Meet the Coaches

I am Coach Gigi! I have been coaching the Mater Bay cheer program since 2016! I’ve had the pleasure of leading our team to remarkable achievements, including coaching the first team in the school's history to attend the FHSAA State Championships (2023 - 2024). With over ten years of experience as a cheerleader at the All-Star and high school level, I have earned honors such as UCA All-American Cheerleader and First Team All-County Athlete for two consecutive years. I was blessed enough to start the cheer program with just one team, and have successfully expanded it to include athletes from elementary through high school, along with a mini cheer enrichment program, nurturing the next generation of cheerleaders. 

It is my goal to make the Mater Bay teams under my guidance continue to strive for excellence, always pushing toward new milestones. 

My name is Lana Mesa. I have been apart of Mater Bay cheerleading for the last two seasons. I bring 10 years of competitive cheer experience, and past leadership as a captain on varsity team. I look forward to bringing both expertise and passion to my role as an Assistant Coach. I work across all levels, coaching the elementary, middle, and high school teams here at Mater Bay. I feel my broad experience and leadership skills provide invaluable support and guidance to cheerleaders of all ages. I am truly excited to inspire and develop young athletes, contributing to the vibrant and growing spirit of the Mater Bay cheerleading community. 

I am Ashley Kubit. I joined the Mater Bay coaching staff as an assistant cheer coach for the 2023-2024 school year, I intend on bringing passion and enthusiasm for cheerleading to the school's vibrant community. With a background that combines both athletic prowess and motivational skills, I intend on using these attributes to assist our cheer teams across all levels—elementary, middle, and high school. My commitment to fostering team spirit and personal growth is in my hands-on approach, where I focus on skill development, teamwork, and instilling a love for the sport. I look forward to instilling dedication and that each cheerleader's experience is rewarding and enriching, both on and off the mat!
