Q. If one sibling is admitted, will the other automatically be accepted?

A. No, siblings are not guaranteed joint acceptance. However, if one sibling is admitted and the other is not, the latter will receive priority on the waitlist if a spot becomes available within the grade they are applying to.

Q. If I am currently on the waitlist, do I need to reapply for next year's lottery?

A. Yes, students on this year's waitlist must submit a new application for the following year's lottery which becomes available on November 1st. Waitlist status does not carry over for the next school year. However, if a student is on waitlist for the current school year, they do not need to reapply for this year.

Q. Do current Mater Bay Academy students need to participate in the lottery when moving to the next school level?

A. No, existing students transitioning from elementary (lower) to middle school or from middle to high (upper) school are exempt from the lottery and will have guaranteed placement into the next grade level.

Q. If a student is waitlisted, when does the next lottery take place?

A. The lottery is continuous and selected as space becomes available.

Q. If I do not respond to the acceptance by the given response date, will the acceptance be rejected?

A. Yes, failure to respond to an acceptance within the given time will automatically remove the student from the acceptance list and they will not be added to the waitlist.

Q. How do I know if my student was selected?

A. You will receive an acceptance email to the email address provided on the application.
